The state of demolition

& Removal.

I’m back home after an 11 hour drive and going through emails. One being from my school. Yep, I’m back in school and they reminded be it’s been a week since my last assignment. It reminded me that you are my priority. It’s late so I’ll keep it brief and expound on it as time goes on. I think lied to you the last time I told you I was going to keep it brief. But I have to keep this short before my night meds kick in.

I told you that my first entrepreneurial journey began with my first client – a demolition firm. I never told you their full name. While I was driving I realized that I forgot to talk about something very important in making literal and metaphorical parallels with demolition. I spent time talking about the importance of not just being a black and white thinker and embracing the gray. It is the area we need to exist in between the black and white. It is where we allow room for understanding and forgiveness. the area of space where the undecided matters can rest for a moment so we don’t over-burden our minds. In black and white thinking or as I called it previously, all or nothing thinking, we forget that not everything has to be done in a day. That one or the other way of thinking doesn’t allow for “baby steps”. We don’t want to go from crawling to walking to running. We expect to run immediately from the womb – so to speak.

That said. Back to the Demo company I worked for, they described what they did in the title of their business. I’ll blame it on my black and white thinking for forgetting to tell you about this. It was “demolition & removal.” Not everything needs to be demolished, sometimes in life some things require removal. Caveat is that this can be a lot harder than demolition especially when we’re talking about people. But before we conclude demolition is absolute we can add to our gray area arsenal of tools evaluating for removal. The State of Removal just doesn’t sound as good. So marinate on that.

Until the next time, my you have peace.
